Mission:The Southern Cross Adaptive Maritime Program is organized within the meaning of sec 501 (c) (3) of the IRC to enrich thelives of individuals with special needs of all ages and disadvantaged youth, by providing the education necessary to safely sail as independently as possible on the waters of Hampton Roads and surrounding region. SCAMP participants enjoy the adventure and fun of sailing while experiencing enhanced independence, increased self-esteem and personal growth in a unique therapeutic recreational environment. Should SCAMP participants desire, they will be provided the additional education and training necessary to compete at the national and international amateur sailing level. |
